I've been somewhat lazy about posting for week, because I met someone who was a producer at CSI, who liked my concept for City of God, and told me to write up a rough outline and a pilot that she'd send to her friends. Rough outline is pretty much done (and I'll update the one one the site soon), but I'm only half way through the script at this point, having slightly more trouble with TV format than I thought I would.
Just to keep people reading though I'd like to put up a real life story that I just remembered. I'm pretty sure if I ever get this story off the ground somehow it will make the fodder for a later scene between Francis and Claire, perhaps an episode ender.
When I was a Junior in college, I was dating a rather lovely Korean girl, she had just gotten out of University (where she studied piano), and thought I was rather silly (which I was), but good looking, and seemingly rather interesting (we both had a fondness for obscure music). The relationship didn't last very long because I was totally ridiculous, and she always made it clear that she was just in it for "fun" and that she didn't take it very seriously. That said, she's probably one of the ex's a remember most fondly.
My favorite memory of her, was a night we spent wandering around sunset boulevard, we had argued earlier about what we meant to one another (I was rather confused by her telling me that she didn't want a serious relationship, but thought I was only interested in her for sex). She asked me if I wanted to go see a stripper, which I said no to (I've only been to a strip club once, and it was one of the most horrible things I've ever seen), then we went to tour records, and had a drink somewhere.
Right before we were about to go back to my place, we were sitting at a coffee shop finishing our drinks. I forget what we were talking about, but something said instigated us to kiss one another. A girl walking by said "aww, are you guys in love."
We looked at each other and said "no." The girl said "that's too bad," and walked away.
